O Divine One, grant me this boon: may I never refrain from performing righteous deeds.
— Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj
With the blessings of Guru Sahiban and the Founding Saints, and in the presence of parents, faculty members, students and the entire Baru Sahib community, the 14th Convocation Ceremony of Eternal University marked its successful completion.
The ceremony commenced on an auspicious note with the rendition of Shabad “Deh Siva Bar Mohe Ihai…” by students of the Akal College of Divine Music and Spiritualism, Eternal University.
The Shabad carried a profound message for the graduating students to remain steadfast on the path of righteousness, whether in higher studies, professional life, or any stage of their journey.
Taking this message forward, Hon’ble Dr. Davinder Singh Ji, Chancellor, Eternal University & President, The Kalgidhar Trust, encouraged the graduates never to compromise with their value system, emphasising truthfulness, honesty, kindness and compassion as principles to carry throughout life.
The Convocation Ceremony was dedicated to the 1 00th Birth Anniversary of Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji (1926–2026), honouring the enduring legacy of education, service and social upliftment that continues to inspire the institutions at Baru Sahib.
The occasion was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Dr. Harminder Singh Baweja, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, who was welcomed by Hon’ble Dr. Davinder Singh Ji and Hon’ble Dr. Neelam Kaur, Vice-Chancellor, Eternal University, Deans, faculty members, students, parents and members of the Baru Sahib educational community.
A total of 293 students were conferred degrees across various academic programmes, including 222 undergraduate, 66 postgraduate and 5 doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees. The ceremony was attended by more than 2,500 participants, including students of Akal Academy Baru Sahib under the Academic Integration Program.
Students demonstrating exceptional performance in academics and other areas were recognised through several honours, including 6 Excellence Awards, 5 Dr. Jasjit Balwant Atwal M.D. Scholarships, 2 Best Library User Awards and 11 Medal Awards. Ms. Garima Chauhan, B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, and Ms. Ravneet Kaur, Agricultural Science (Agronomy), received University Medals at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, respectively.
Presenting the Annual Report of Eternal University, Hon’ble Dr. Neelam Kaur highlighted the University’s academic growth, achievements, activities and ongoing initiatives. Congratulating the graduates, Dr. Neelam Kaur encouraged students to complement academic learning with responsibility, discipline and human values.
Addressing the graduating students, Hon’ble Dr. Davinder Singh Ji reflected on the true purpose of education and its responsibility towards society. Dr. Davinder Singh Ji encouraged students to work hard, progress through their knowledge and abilities, and create opportunities not only for themselves but also for others.
The message was simple yet far-reaching: the benefit of education should not remain limited to the individual. Every graduate was encouraged to extend a helping hand to at least one person in need and contribute towards improving that person’s life. Just as one lamp lights another, the light of knowledge, compassion and service must continue to spread.
The graduates were further encouraged to carry forward the values of education, service, altruism, character and humanity nurtured at Baru Sahib and make them an integral part of their personal and professional lives.
In the Chief Guest address, Dr. Harminder Singh Baweja congratulated the graduates and spoke about the importance of education, research and institutional collaboration. He also announced a (MoU) would be signed between Dr. Y.S. Parmar University & Eternal University, opening avenues for academic & research collaboration & creating new opportunities for students and research scholars.
Dr. Baweja encouraged the students to use their knowledge and education for the development of society and the nation, while wishing them success in their future journeys.
A significant highlight of the ceremony was the release of the ‘Alumni Chronicle’, a publication documenting the achievements, life journeys, notable contributions and memories of alumni associated with Baru Sahib and Eternal University. The Chronicle seeks to preserve these journeys as a lasting record while offering present students an opportunity to draw inspiration from those who walked the same corridors before them.

Remained at the heart of the occasion, reinforcing that the true purpose of knowledge extends beyond personal achievement and finds its highest expression in the welfare and service of others.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the graduates and wish them every success in their future endeavours.
